BlackOut bench TenZ; dee comes in as stand-in
BlackOut have joined the list of teams making mid-season roster adjustments as they head into week four of MDL, as Tyson "TenZ" Ngo moves to the bench. David "dee" Ngo comes into the squad as a stand-in.
When reached for comment by Dust2.us, team captain Daniel "impsta" Whaley revealed that the team "needed to go a separate direction to find new spark", and that Jake "kaboose" McDonald's previous playtime with dee "made him a good candidate" to join them in the short term.
kaboose and dee last played together in Season 25 of MDL on The Foundation, where the team placed 22nd. BlackOut currently sit in a similarily dismal position, with an 18th overall placing in the 24 team league and a 2-5 record to boot. With an early overtime win over Rise Nation this past week, they look to capitalize on that momentum and aim to redeem themselves with a revitalized roster as the months draw on.
This interim BlackOut roster already made a debut in the online qualifiers for ECS Season 5, proving successful against BLNK to advance into the Closed Qualifiers. With dee on board, BlackOut will now attempt to qualify for a second league as they look to make a comeback in their first.
BlackOut's roster is now:
- Daniel "impsta" Whaley
- Giovanni "Fighter" Leo
- Jake "kaboose" McDonald
- Alex "aproto" Protopapas
- David "dee" Ngo (Stand-in)
- Tyson "TenZ" Ngo (Backup)
The team will face off against F1-racecar-PEEK in the ECS Season 5 Closed Qualifiers later today, with their match set to start at 9 PM EST.
