potter and RES claim narrow victory; CLG Red stumble in Poland
Kicking off Group B action in Katowice was the international mix of RES and the Russians of ARES fe. Christine "potter" Chi's new squad ran out to an early 10-5 lead on the Terrorist side, but saw ARES claw back in the second half. RES and potter were finally able to claim victory in the thirtieth round.
CLG Red began their match on Mirage on the back foot, as the Europeans took the opening pistol. The Americans managed to recover by the end of the half, seeing the scoreline to 6-9 in their detriment. However, Julia "bullet girl" Kurzyńska and Squared really put the pedal to the metal in the second half, putting up six round in a row to put themselves on match point.
A last ditch effort from CLG Red saw them earn two rounds and stave off the inevitable for a time, but Square were not to be denied, and took the map 16-8.
The next match in Poland will see the victors of RES and Squared fe face each other in the upper bracket. Following that, ARES fe and CLG Red will fight for survival in lowers.
