Dignitas fe top Group A in Katowice
Fresh off their bootcamp at the 76er's facilities in Philadelphia, Dignitas fe looked to start their first offline event with new addition Kiara "milk" Makua in good form.
Standing in their way were the Europeans of Singularity, featuring Petra "Petra" Stoker, who briefly plied her trade with female juggernauts Dynasty (now RES). The Europeans got off to a great start, taking the first seven rounds on their Terrorist side unanswered. Dignitas were eventually able to get it together, but still found themselves down 10-5 at the half.
Undaunted, the North Americans busted off a winning streak of their own on the T-side to tie the score up at 10-10. The map would eventually be taken to overtime, where Dignitas were able to tally a 19-17 victory thanks to huge performances from Canadian duo Mounira "GooseBreeder" Dobie and Amanda "rain" Smith.
Moving on to the upper bracket match, the team were matched against the Brazilian ladies of Keyd Stars fe, who had defeated Chinese side GoHome in their opening match. Fully awake after their first match, the North Americans made short work of their opponents, running out to an 11-4 lead before slamming the door with a flawless CT half. The team were again largely powered by the Those Damn Canadians pairing of rain and GooseBreeder, with the former posting a 2.03 HLTV rating.
The Dignitas ladies are now through to the semifinals free and clear, where they will await the second place team from Group B. In said group are fellow North American team CLG Red, whose Polish campaign is set to start at 1:00 PM EST against Squared Fe.
