Liquid and Renegades qualify for IEM Katowice
After a single evening, the NA closed qualifier for IEM Katowice was complete. After 100 Thieves pulled out, there were only seven teams left competing in the closed qualifier, but not before long there were just six remaining as Misfits followed suit.
Liquid qualified over three maps against NRG. Overpass was arguably the closest, as it took up all 30 rounds for Liquid to take it. Mirage ran away from Liquid, which wasn't necessarily ideal for them as it was their map pick. But Train was a fairly easy win for the American side as they booked their trip to Poland. This was the second Bo3 they played, as compLexity took them all the way in their first match.

With one team sorted, it was the other side of the bracket to determine it's victor. With Luminosity receiving a bye to the second round, it was warmed up Renegades who took their spot in Poland in two straight games. Cache saw their pick go exactly as they wanted, never being two far behind in a quick win. Train was even faster, as the Australians barely dropped any rounds against their Brazilian opponents to secure a spot in Katowice.
