Liquid bounce back with clean win over FURIA at EPL S21
Liquid showed they did not dwell on their heartbreaking defeat to Falcons in the first game of Stage 2 at EPL Season 21.
Starting on Dust2, FURIA's map pick, Liquid fell behind 4-1 before a second half surge saw the international squad take a 7-5 lead to their T side. FURIA again won the pistol and the following two rounds to take the lead at 8-7. Liquid replicated their first half by coming back with four rounds of their own, eventually closing the map 13-10. Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken stepped up after an abysmal first half to post a team-high 11 frags in the second period.
FURIA continued their hot streak of pistol round victories on the first half of Anubis, electing to start on the traditionally favored T side. The Brazilians looked primed to take away Liquid's map pick, sprinting out to a 5-0 lead powered by the combined efforts of Yuri "yuurih" Santos and Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes.
Liquid fought back, reducing the deficit to just two rounds at halftime, making the score 7-5 in favor of FURIA. The Brazilians' fortune in pistol rounds, and the game as a whole, ended there. Liquid took the pistol and surrendered a single round in the second half to win the map 13-8. Twistzz activated on the T side once again. The Canadian posted a 9-3 K/D ratio on the second side.
Keith "NAF" Markovic quietly had the best game of anyone in the server, securing a match-high 34 frags with consistent gameplay throughout the series.
