donk recreates magic on Mirage, but Spirit ultimately fall to NAVI
The consensus best player of 2024 already has a trophy and an MVP award under his belt, and now Danil "donk" Kryshkovets is adding even more highlights on the A site of Mirage.
In map one of a splendid series against NAVI, donk single-handedly won Spirit the second half pistol round, on the site of his Shanghai Major clutch that won Highlight of the Year in 2024. The superstar aced a 2v5 scenario, picking up four kills with his Glock before grabbing a USP to finish off Ihor "w0nderful" Zhdanov.
However, that was only one of two rounds that Spirit claimed in the second half, as they were consistently stonewalled by NAVI's stalwart CT side on Mirage. The margins of victory only got narrower as the series progressed, as Spirit needed all 24 rounds of regulation to win on Dust2, before NAVI emerged victorious in overtime on Nuke.
An absolutely incredible series from donk (71 kills, 49 deaths, 103.6 ADR) ultimately still wasn't enough as NAVI joins Virtus.pro, Vitality, and The MongolZ in the IEM Katowice playoffs in Spodek Arena.
Spirit will face Liquid in the lower bracket of Group B On Tuesday, February 3 at 07:30AM.
