M80 fall to the lower bracket of ICE Invitational 2025
M80 found themselves in the lower bracket of the ICE Invitational 2025, a $20,000 LAN in Barcelona that features four teams, as the first day of the tournament concluded on January 20.
The team led by Elias "s1n" Stein defeated Nexus in the opening round and were beaten by 500 in the upper final. The all-Bulgarian team features two known faces in North America, the AWPer Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov and the rifler Aleks "Rainwaker" Petrov.
M80 will have the chance to get revenge against 500 as long as they defeat Sashi tomorrow, January 21st. This will be M80's first best-of-three match in the tournament as the previous two were mere best-of-ones.
Even though ICE Invitational 2025 is a small LAN, anything but the trophy would be considered a bad result for M80 as they're by far the highest-ranked team in the event and would consequentially waste the opportunity to gain points in the Valve Ranking System (VRS).
The winner of M80 vs. Sashi will play 500 in the grand finals tomorrow, hours after the lower bracket final.
