IEM Katowice Stage 1 opening matchups revealed, Liquid claim the top seed
ESL have revealed on January 17th all the matches in the first round of the IEM Katowice Stage 1, which features the North American teams Liquid, Complexity, and Wildcard.
The IEM Katowice Stage 1 features 16 teams and will use a double elimination format. All the matches are best-of-three series, including the opening round, unlike the 2024 edition. The top eight teams from the Stage 1 will advance to the main stage, where the likes of Spirit, NAVI, and G2 await.
Liquid have the top seed of the IEM Katowice Stage 1 and will face the new HEROIC roster in the opening round. Complexity and Wildcard, on the other hand, will play against Eternal Fire and BIG, respectively. Out of these three NA teams, Liquid were the only one who survived in the first round of BLAST Bounty Season 1 this week.
