Cryptic will take over the IGL reins from RUSH

Official: Nouns announce new roster

The North American team signed three players for the 2025 season.

Nouns announced the arrival of Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore, Gage "Infinite" Green, and Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell, confirming a report from Dust2.us. The new trio joins veterans William "RUSH" Wierzba and Paytyn "junior" Johnson, who were the only players who retained their spot on Nouns after this roster overhaul.

Out of all the three new signings, Cryptic is the one that garnered the most attention. The 23-year-old will take over the IGL duties from RUSH after leading BOSS to qualify for ESL Pro League Season 19 and the Perfect World Shanghai Major RMR in 2024.

The arrival of Peeping is a logical move for Nouns, as the 19-year-old has been playing for them on a trial basis since November. Most notably, the youngster posted a 1.26 rating at Fragadelphia 18, helping Nouns secure a top-four finish.

As for Infinite, Nouns turned to him presumably after the plans to sign Nick "nicx" Lee fell through. nicx was also trialing for Nouns alongside Peeping, but he's joining Complexity instead, sources told Dust2.us on January 2nd.

Even though Infinite wasn't Nouns' first option, he's far from being a bad pick. The 26-year-old averaged a 1.10 rating in the past six months while playing for Party Astronauts.

Nouns have a tall task ahead of themselves as they must climb the Valve Ranking System (VRS) with the new core in order to secure one of the 32 spots at the BLAST.tv Austin Major in the middle of the year.

Nouns are now:

  • United States Paytyn "junior" Johnson

  • United States William "RUSH" Wierzba

  • United States Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell

  • United States Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore

  • United States Gage "Infinite" Green

  • United States Eric "adreN" Hoag (Coach)
