cxzi has been called up after years of toil in the NA scene

Report: Complexity close in on American duo for 2025

Complexity are taking a major chance by gambling on NA talent to rebuild their roster for 2025.

Dust2.us has learned from multiple sources that Complexity are set to unveil their new lineup for the 2025 season, with the organization expected to announce the additions of two NA upcomers in the form of Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk and Nick "nicx" Lee, seeing the two players called to the tier-one scene for the first time in their careers.

This massive pivot from Complexity sees the organization take a chance on the NA grassroots scene to fill out their roster and replace Ricky "floppy" Kemery and Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski, two tenured and highly experienced names in the NA scene.

The addition of cxzi would see the 24-year-old finally achieve a tier-one debut after years of grinding in the two-tier NA scene while being regarded as one of the region's best developing talents. cxzi's lengthy career has seen him represent a massive number of teams and serve under a myriad number of IGLs in the pursuit of glory.

His most notable outings over the past seven years include the likes of Triumph, Strife, Nouns, Forsaken, and Party Astronauts. Currently, cxzi is playing for Undone under the leadership of Josh "steel" Nissan, with the team recently earning promotion to ESL Challenger League Season 49. cxzi ended 2024 with a strong 1.12 rating over 192 maps while playing for Undone and Party Astronauts.

nicx on the other hand, is a far more fresh face to the NA scene, having only recently broken into ECL on LAG under the leadership of Turkish IGL Deniz "Experative" Mutlum. In recent weeks, nicx has been seen trialing with Nouns, with Dust2.us confirming that the player is no longer part of the DAO-backed organization's plans.

While cxzi represents a somewhat cautious approach to calling up talent in the NA scene, the decision to stake the team's bets on nicx is a radical departure from Complexity's star-studded approach to acquiring talent in recent years. nicx has no international LANs under his belt and only recently started his semi-professional career in earnest in late 2023. However, nicx was able to post strong numbers during his time with LAG and Nouns in 2024, ending the year with a 1.11 rating over 151 maps.

Complexity are expected to start 2025 with:

  • Johnny "JT" Theodosiou

  • United States Michael "Grim" Wince

  • Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli

  • United States Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk

  • United States Nick "nicx" Lee

  • Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen (Coach)

Dust2.us reached out to Complexity for comment, but did not hear back ahead of publication.

Wow… this is awesome. I love seeing new people get their shots.

I wonder who Nouns pivots to? I’m assuming they’re picking up Cryptic, so beyond that?
