CoJoMo announces break from competitive CS2
Following the conclusion of the IESF World Esports Championship, 22-year-old Collin "CoJoMo" Moren has announced that he is taking a break from active competition.
"I absolutely love CS and want to shift my focus to helping new players grow and find their place in the scene," CoJoMo wrote on X. "Competing can be very brutal and its easy to lose sight on the most important things in life. 2025 marks a massive shift in my life and I want to give everything I can to this scene. I want to share all the lessons I have learned through my failures and successes."
A rising force in North America on the AWP, CoJoMo’s career took a sharp turn earlier this year when his team Perseverance Gaming was shockingly disqualified from ESL Challenger League Season 48. CoJoMo and his teammates were banned from ESL FACEIT Group events for attempting to deceive tournament admins with falsified weather reports and power outage claims.
The roster was released by Perseverance after the disqualification and ban, though all the bans from EFG events expired this past September. CoJoMo played with some of his Perseverance teammates on Phoenix at the Americas RMR qualifier, then again with them as part of Team USA at IESF, where the squad would exit the international LAN with a 0-5 record.
Going forward, CoJoMo says he will still be "competing" in the scene, "just in a much different way."
