NRG will be back on LAN for the first time in nine months

NRG set to headline Fragadelphia 18

After missing the RMR, NRG will aim to dominate at home.

On October 21st, NRG confirmed their participation in Fragadelphia 18 by signing up for the 64-team, $50,000 LAN event. NRG's decision to sign up for the NA grassroots LAN will see the journeyman squad return to LAN for the first time in nine months. Since playing the PGL Major Copenhagen Americas RMR back in March, the squad has been foiled in all previous attempts at qualifying to LAN.

This failure to qualify to LANs is in fact the likely reason for NRG electing to attend Fragadelphia 18, as the team bombed out of the Perfect World Shanghai Major Americas RMR Closed Qualifier back in August, denying the team a chance to compete for a spot in the Shanghai Major. As such, NRG will head into this LAN as heavy favorites with the players being the most tenured and experienced squad by far to attend Fragadelphia's first numbered event in two years.

The team will look to make a splash in Kansas City to end the year after recently showing improved form in ESL Challenger League Season 48, finishing the division in second place just behind M80 who dominated in the finals. With NRG earning an ESL Pro League Season 21 berth from their ECL finish they will likely hope to use this experience to prepare for EPL and the plethora of other LAN events set to run in 2025.

Fragadelphia 18 currently has 22 teams signed up, with that number likely rising in the following weeks. NRG will join a number of NA hopefuls who also missed out on the RMR, including FLUFFY AIMERS, Party Astronauts, and Penance (formerly known as Phoenix).

Notable teams signed up for Fragadelphia 18 currently include:

Copenhagen Wolves
United States FLUFFY AIMERS
United States MIGHT
United States NRG

United States Party Astronauts
United States Penance
United States Take Flyte

Fragadelphia 18 is scheduled to begin on December 5th.
