compLexity lose to Cloud9 in Montreal opener

Cloud9 easily sweep past compLexity on Train and move on to the winners match this afternoon.

The veto decided that both teams were going to settle the affair on Train. Train, curiously, is one of Cloud9’s best maps, as they have beaten some of the best teams on the world on it. This means that either Alec “Slemmy” White didn’t do his homework, or that he thought they were just better. Either way, things did not pan out well for coL in the first half, as even after winning the pistol and the following three rounds, they could only muster a total of five rounds from the Counter-Terrorist side.

It seems that Jake “Stewie2K” Yip and Tim “autimatic” Ta’s dominance this game was far too much for compLexity (with the exception of Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker), as Cloud9 easily cleaned up the six rounds they needed in the first six rounds of the half. This further shows the dominance of Cloud9 in the NA region and the large gap between the top two teams and the rest of the scene.

Cloud9 will play against the winner of Immortals and Luminosity to determine who will advance past Group B, while compLexity will play the loser of that game to decide who will exit the tournament in last place.
