BOSS top CCT NA Series 3 over FLUFFY AIMERS
Last weekend CCT Season 2 NA Series 3 came to a close after a month of play with BOSS emerging as the champions after taking down a number of ESL Challenger League heavyweights including Party Astronauts and NRG. Overall, the league saw two unlikely heroes carve their way into the finals with BOSS ultimately facing off against FLUFFY AIMERS who themselves took down Legacy in the semifinals.
Both teams came into the tournament as direct invites into playoffs, being able to skip the swiss stage entirely. BOSS' road to the finals began with a relatively one-sided 2-0 win over Mythic in the round of sixteen followed up a close 2-1 win over NRG that saw Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore and Gavin "Fruitcupx" Norman take leading roles in the win. Their next matchup against the new Party Astronauts was also close, requiring overtime wins on Mirage and Ancient to book a spot in the finals.
FLUFFY AIMERS meanwhile began their playoffs run with a 2-1 win over Revenge Nation before also having to claim a close 2-1 win over timbermen despite starting the series off with a 13-0 win on Vertigo. FLUFFY AIMERS' semifinals match against Legacy proved to be their most decisive as they managed to take down the Brazilians 2-0 while fielding Kevin "consti" Yi as a stand-in.
With the finals sorted, the series began on Vertigo with a 7-5 T-side before using this minute lead to stay ahead of their opponents to take Vertigo 13-11. Moving onto Ancient, BOSS were once again in the driver's seat as they found an 8-4 CT-side with Fruitcupx once again leading the charge. After switching sides, FLUFFY AIMERS would finally gain control of a half, mirroring BOSS' defensive effort to post an 8-4 CT-side of their own and force the map into overtime. Overtime itself was fairly decisive for BOSS as they went 4-1 to claim Ancient 16-13 and the series 2-0.

For their efforts, BOSS claim $10,000 while also getting a much-needed confidence boost ahead of the Perfect World Shanghai Major Americas RMR as the only orgless team in attendance.
