Mythic demoted to ESEA Advanced in final day of ECL S48
Mythic have been demoted to ESEA Advanced S52, having finished ESL Challenger League S48 in last place with a 5-23 record. Going into the final day, Mythic needed to avoid losing both maps to Nouns Esports while also hoping for LAG Gaming and Take Flyte to not split their series 1-1.
Unfortunately for Erik "fl0m" Flom and company, that's precisely what happened. Mythic lost 13-5 on Nuke and 13-8 on Vertigo. Meanwhile, Take Flyte managed to take Anubis in multiple overtimes, but LAG Gaming bounced back on Mirage to split their final series 1-1 and seal Mythic's fate.
This was Mythic's first showing in ECL since Austin "Austin" Meadows joined the roster in July, replacing Nicholas "hate" Young who had departed for FLUFFY AIMERS. The current core of Mythic has competed in eight straight seasons of ECL since 2022, though they had to avoid relegation a couple of times.
