ESL bans SOCD/Snap Tap for LAN events, awaiting update for online ban

Finally, a decision.

ESL announced it would ban the Snap Tap/Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Directions (SOCD) in their Counter-Strike 2 LAN competitions starting with ESL Pro League Season 20, which begins later this September.

The organizer told HLTV that while these features from keyboard makers Wooting and Razer had been banned for their LAN events, it would "continue to allow such features and similar assistants in online tournaments for the time being," however they will update that stance "when detection and enforcement is possible."

The ban follows both Valve and BLAST in their decision to outlaw such features. The developer has implemented the measure into their online detection which automatically kicks players from a server if it is detected.
