BLAST follows suit with Snap Tap ban

Guess it's only good for VALORANT now?

According to a statement made to HLTV this morning, BLAST has decided to follow Valve's stance and ban the use of Razer's Snap Tap technology and similar technology from its competitions.

"Due to the recent update and stance from Valve, BLAST will not allow the use of the Snap Tap and SOCD or similar assistants that produce the same outcome for Fall Showdown and all future BLAST events," BLAST told HLTV this morning.

While the statement itself focused on the Snap Tap technology, it did not touch on Valve's other decree on jump-throw binds, which the developer has tried to remove from the game.

BLAST currently allows such jump-throw binds in its rulebook, and it could conceivably remain in the competition as the ban from Valve only applies to its servers.

Dust2.us has also contacted ESL to understand their position on the SnapTap ban and their position on jump throw binds, but we have not heard back by the time of publication.

The BLAST Fall showdown is set to begin tomorrow with the American teams M80 and Complexity beginning play this Thursday.
