M80 rack up two easy wins | ECL S48 Roundup Day 9-10

Two more match days have come and gone in ESL Challenger League Season 48, with the league reaching its regular mid-season cadence of around 3-4 series being played per night while teams either rush to complete their regular season commitments or prepare for the inevitable huge number of matches that need to played in the final week of the regular season.

From the August 7th and August 12th matches the most important developments were M80 and Wildcard continuing their impressive seasons, with Nouns also taking two losses to the latter team. Elsewhere, we saw Mythic split a series against Revenge Nation, a decent result for the stream team as they have struggled to find wins. Their record is now 3-11 as they battle to avoid having to play Relegation this season.

Mythic 1-1 RVNG

On the 7th, Mythic split their Bo1x2 with Revenge Nation, with the first map, Anubis, being a one-sided victory for the stream team, while Elliot "MagiC" Iler and co. dominated on Mirage. Both teams were likely looking for a clean 2-0 as both of their records are currently poor, however Revenge Nation have far more wiggle room with only six maps played so they are likely unbothered by the result.

M80 2-0 LAG

As can be expected, M80 crushed LAG in their matchup, with Elias "s1n" Stein putting up great numbers on Vertigo and Ancient. With us now knowing that LAG were set to make roster changes, this outcome cannot be too surprising especially as LAG have been underperforming in recent weeks.

Elevate 2-0 TF

Elevate also found two easy wins over Take Flyte on the 7th, nothing too surprising as well. Take Flyte look set to have to play Relegation once again as they now sit at an 1-11 record and look to be at the same level as last season under One More.

M80 2-0 Mythic

Despite playing M80 close on the second map, anyone could expect M80 to claim a 2-0 victory over Mythic. The only notable thing from this match was the relatively muted performance from Mason "Lake" Sanderson on Inferno, however the team more than made up for his lackluster outing.

Wildcard 2-0 Nouns

Finally, we see Wildcard take another scalp in the form of a 2-0 win over Nouns. Their win over Nouns is particularly impressive as Tim "susp" Ångström has yet to make it NA y which reinforces the excitement we have seen from the scene towards this team and why Dust2.us' Power Ranking panel elected to place them above Nouns at the start of the month.
