Liquid take the battle of attrition over FlipSid3
Day 2 and the 0-1 games began with Team Liquid facing of against FlipSid3 Tactics. Both teams were looking for their first win in the competition, where the two sides faced off on Cobblestone.
The first half started with FlipSid3 securing the pistol on their T-side, before following that up with the following anti-ecos. The first buy round went to Liquid, where the American side pushed on to take the lead after four rounds. With Liquid in the driving seat, a pistol force saw their CIS opponents unexpectedly get back into the lead with another three rounds.
From there the final rounds of the half were traded. Even when FlipSid3 looked to string rounds together to gain a lead, Liquid secured a simple eco round. With the two sides equal, it was FlipSid3 to go through to the half 8-7 up after a close final round, with Yegor "markeloff" Markelov narrowly taking Josh "jdm64" Marzano down at the end.
The second half kicked off with Liquid taking the pistol on their CT-side. From there they secured the two anti-ecos, before FlipSid3 took the first full-buy round. But from there it was the Liquid show more than anything. Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken kicked off the next round with a superb triple kill as his team ran towards the end unanswered.
With Liquid on match point, the curse looked to return as FlipSid3 secured their second CT round of the half, but Liquid prevented things from getting out of control as they comfortably secured the following round to take the game 16-10.

This result sees Liquid go to tomorrow's games with a 1-1 record, whereas FlipSid3 go to the last-chance-saloon with a 0-2 score. Next up at the Major will be mousesports facing off against Na`Vi.
