T.c: "It's basic things that are costing us"

Complexity finally delivered a trophy to their fans this summer when they won ESL Challenger at DreamHack Summer 2024 in Jönköping, Sweden. It was thought to finally be a watershed moment for the American squad as they got the duck off their back and brought home a massive victory to their fans.

There was no better way to end the first half of the year with a win and fans were excited about how the squad would love coming back after the summer break. However, Complexity have struggled with losses to Virtus.pro and M80 while also losing to a AWP-less HEROIC this morning at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups.

After the match, Complexity coach Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen spoke with James Banks on the broadcast to give an assessment of the team's performances this morning.

I can understand Ancient, but you were still playing against them with sAw coming in and then we come to this Vertigo. It felt like you had the game in your hands, but what was going on inside of the server with the team that you couldn't claw back into this?

To start off on Ancient, I think we were kinda in the game. I think on our T-side we tried to play a too fast - we were trying to end the game too quick and we ran into a wall. We knew how they were going their CT-side. We expected the aggression, we expected the re-aggressions, but they were just getting double kills and we couldn't deal with it even though we expected them to play that style. They just shut us down on our T-side completely.

Switching over to Vertigo, like honestly, we were just not converting the rounds that we were supposed to be converting. That game should have been over way before it even got to that point, but if you're gonna lose 5v3s and let your economy get fucked up by Deagles, you're going to put yourself in a tough spot to close the game out.

Every time we're going B, we're getting flashed and nobody is playing Anti... you're getting killed by guys swinging across. It's basic things that are costing us and the game should never gotten to that point.

Complexity are not yet eliminated from the competition as they are set to play OG tomorrow at 08:30AM.
