SLIGHT enters free agency
On July 18th, former Wildcard AWPer Keller "SLIGHT" Nilan confirmed that he has been released from his contract with the organization and is now a free agent. SLIGHT entering into free agency is good news for his new team, BOSS, as they are currently looking for a new organization, something that would have been complicated by prospective organizations needing to pay a buyout for the AWPer.
Wildcard releasing SLIGHT sees the 21-year-old leave the Houston-based organization after 15 months on their books, having joined the organization at the time of their entry into CS:GO with the acquisition of DETONATE's roster. SLIGHT remained a key piece of Wildcard's roster despite multiple shuffles, making the transition from Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore's DETONATE core to Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz's Forsaken core in November 2023.
His time would run out on the team as Wildcard looked to make an international pivot, benching SLIGHT in favor of Swedish import Love "phzy" Smidebrant on June 19th. Fortunately for SLIGHT, he was only on Wildcard's bench for a month, during which he joined BOSS' new roster on July 7th.
Now reunited with his former DETONATE teammates, SLIGHT and co. are on the lookout for a new home as one of the top ESL Challenger League teams.
