Canadian organization Perseverance announces $100,000 LAN

The new Canadian organization is aiming to hold a major LAN in Toronto.

Canadian esports organization Perseverance has announced plans to host a $100,000 USD LAN tournament in Toronto, Canada featuring sixteen teams at the start of November. The announcement by the relatively new organization comes as something of a surprise as Perseverance only began operations in mid-May with the signing of their first ESEA Advanced roster, with a LAN of this scale being a massive leap in terms of financial commitment and organizational complexity.

As previously mentioned, the LAN event is set to be a major tournament for the NA region, with a $100,000 prizepool rivaling ESL Challenger events in terms of size. According to Perseverance's website, the prizepool split will see the winning team take home $55,000 and a custom engraved trophy. Eight teams are set to be invited to the event directly, while Perseverance plans to run two qualifiers on FACEIT to determine the final eight teams.

Beyond that, public details are somewhat scarce regarding the event. Perseverance's CEO, Keke, told Dust2.us that their current plans are to run the event across two days from November 2nd to November 3rd, while the team list will be focused on teams currently based in North America.

The venue for the event is set to be at a house, akin to cs_summit, while production will be handled by an experienced group under a new company that Keke could not confirm on record at the time of publication.

According to Keke, the prizepool and operating costs for the LAN have already been secured. The matter of payment, of course, is a major area of concern for teams when committing to playing in new TO's events, lest it become the next Gaming Paradise 2015.

It remains to be seen whether Keke and co.'s first massive dip into the world of hosting events will be a success, but teams interested in this enticing prizepool in NA's backyard can sign up for the first open qualifier here.
