Official: Liquid and zews go their separate ways

In what is shaping up to be a half rebuild, Liquid are parting ways with its coach, Wilton "zews" Prado, continuing to clean house prior to the start of the second half of the 2024 season.

Prior to this announcement, Casper "cadiaN" Møller has already been benched from the team, with Felipe "skullz" Medeiros reportedly inches from joining FURIA.

zews' second stint with Liquid wasn't nearly as long nor as successful as his first time coaching the organization, back in 2016 through 2018, when he helped the team reach several grand finals like ESL One New York 2017 and 2018 and IEM Chicago 2018, while also winning cs_summit 2 and SuperNova CS:GO Malta.

The best that zews and the new look Liquid could accomplish in the first half of 2024 was a grand final appearance in the CCT Global Finals 2024, which the team would go on to lose to Eternal Fire. In the past are loads of shortcomings, such as missing the first CS2 Major, missing an Esports World Cup spot, and underwhelming performances in big events like IEM Dallas and IEM Chengdu, as well as the two BLAST events the team participated in.

With this departure, the project Liquid tried to put together for 2024 has lost three of its six members, with only the Canadian duo of Keith "NAF" Markovic and Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, and an underperforming Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis remaining. With recent, unverified rumors showing that Twistzz will be the IGL of the squad going forward, it remains to be scene who Liquid will put in the coaching slot to complement the Canadian.
