Brazen best Orangutan Gang to win Long IsLAN 2021
A mixteam based around Brazen's core has won Long IsLAN 2021, a $5,000 LAN event hosted by The Meta Gaming in Saint James, New York. The modified lineup took down Advanced/Premier mixteam Orangutan Gang yesterday evening to take home the $3,000 grand prize.
The event began on Saturday with the ten teams in attendance divided into two round-robin groups. The groups stages went off largely as expected, with the only team of note to not make playoffs being Ken "krotomo" Otomo's Stony Brook University collegiate lineup.
Moving into playoffs, Main lineup All Gas No Brakes picked up a surprise 2-0 win over Advanced lineup Uncharted Territory while Revel's mixteam based around Collin "CoJoMo" Moren bested Advanced squad Vicious Kitties 2-0. In the semi-finals, Orangutan Gang advanced into the finals with a 2-1 win over All Gas No Brakes while Brazen made quick work of Revel with a 2-0 win.
In the grand finals, Brazen clinched a close 2-0 win over Orangutan Gang in the finals propelled by massive performances from Max "SolGoat" Wallace and Bradley "Slugy" Kohler
