Extra Salt dispatch Party Astronauts to win ESEA Summer Cash Cup 7
As the sun sets on summer, the final ESEA Cash Cup of the season has came to a close last weekend with Extra Salt claiming their first Cash Cup title since Winter Cash Cup 6 in February with a 2-1 win over Party Astronauts. Levitate swept Eros 2-0 to secure the final spot on the podium.
A lack of ESEA Premier rosters gave a number of ESEA Advanced sides a chance to make a run deeper into the Cash Cup than previous iterations of the event. Triumph forfeited their initial match, but no other Premier squads lost to lower division competition until the third place match. Detonate bowed out after an overtime loss to Counter Nature, and Big Chillin were eliminated by Party Astronauts, but not before eliminating Brazen.

Saad "Pluto" Siraj topped the scoreboard for his side in a cinderella semifinal appearance for Levitate, finishing the series with 42 frags in the loss. Both Josh "oSee" Ohm and Johnny "JT" Theodosiou bested that total with 47 and 45 kills, respectively.

In the other semifinal Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue ran amok for Party Astronauts. He finished over ten kills ahead of every player on Eros in a decisive win on Inferno, then passed the torch to David "cynic" Polster, who replicated the accomplishment on Nuke. Jason "Jason" Garcia led Eros with 32 kills in the series loss.

Levitate, who currently sit at 10-4 in ESEA Advanced, picked up a huge morale-boosting win and $2,000 in straight maps against ESEA Premier opposition, Eros. Emrecan "EMSTAR" Çalışkan tallied 52 kills for the victors, while Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore led Eros with 49 frags in the loss.

The AWPs dominated a drawn-out, closely-contested reverse sweep for Extra Salt in the grand final. Every map went a minimum of thirty rounds, with the latter two requiring overtime for Extra Salt to dispatch their Premier foes. oSee finished the series with a server-high 79 kills, closely followed by PwnAlone who had 76 frags and led the way with 35 of those frags on the sniper rifle.
