Legacy win ESEA Advanced, earn ECL promotion
Legacy have secured their spot in next season's edition of the North American ESL Challenger League after officially taking down OMiT in a 3-0 conquest. It was not even a close fight for the Brazilian side as they only allowed their opponents ten total rounds across two maps.
It is the end to a dominant season for Legacy who continued to impress despite their roster instability. The team were without Marcelo "coldzera" David who departed the team when they left for the United States. From there, the team used Jake "Stewie2k" Yip as a stand-in and then settled on Guilherme "saadzin" Pacheco.
Despite those issues, the squad remained one of the best teams in the league and made that well known come playoff time. The squad did not drop a single map throughout the playoffs as they defeated VitaPLUR, Retire, E-Xolos LAZER, and OMiT twice to take the final crown.
The match against the Mongolian side started with the Brazilians earning a 1-0 series lead advantage as they came from the upper bracket. While on Legacy's pick of Inferno, the Brazilians made sure to repel most of the OMiT attacks to give themselves a 8-4 lead heading into the second half. From there, it was pretty even while the Brazilians attacked with them eventually earning a 13-7 map win.
Ancient was a much faster map for the Brazilians as their CT-side once again proved to be better than the Mongolian's T-side. They held their opponents to just three rounds total as they took a 9-3 lead before cleaning up the map with a perfect T-side to secure a 13-3 map win, and 3-0 series victory.
Legacy are not yet done in NA before the player break as they are set to compete in the CCT Season 2 North America Series 1 playoffs later this week.
