BOSS lose two amidst latest NA shuffle

BOSS' instability has continued with FaNg heading to PA.

Last night BOSS lost key members of their roster in the latest change for the embattled roster, seeing Justin "FaNg" Coakley leave to join Party Astronauts while coach Tommy "Axed' Ryan has stepped down from the team. The loss of BOSS' latest addition and their long-time coach is the latest change to rock the NA sub top as Party Astronauts, Nouns, and FLUFFY AIMERS, among others have all made changes in recent weeks.

FaNg's decision to decamp to Party Astronauts sees the former NRG player leave BOSS after a month with the team. During his brief tenure with the squad, FaNg attended ESL Pro League Season 19 with BOSS, where the team were eliminated without a single win despite close series against BIG and NIP. While FaNg struggled individually in Malta he was a reliable piece for the squad back in North America, overall ending his time with BOSS with a 1.11 rating over 35 maps.

As for Axed, his departure comes as he is set to take a break from competition after a difficult and unstable tenure at the helm of BOSS. During his time with the roster, BOSS replaced four players in a little over six months, with Adam "WolfY" Andersson and FaNg being poached by Party Astronauts while the untimely passing of David "cynic" Polster was a gut punch for the team right after qualifying to the PGL Major Copenhagen Americas RMR.

With these changes leaving BOSS somewhat adrift in the scene ahead of ESL Challenger League Season 47 playoffs, Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore told Dust2.us that the team intend on sticking together and finding a new fifth, albeit with plans to pug out the rest of the season. Whether the team sticks together or not beyond that likely depends on upcoming performances in ECL and the first Thunderpick World Championship qualifier.

BOSS are now:

  • United States Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore

  • Canada Adam "freshie" Paterson

  • United States Matthew "d4rty" Paplawskas

  • United States Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue

BOSS have a difficult next match ahead of them, as they are set to take on M80 in ECL tonight at 06:00PM.
