Complexity second NA squad to playoffs
Complexity has already made their way into playoffs following their victory over HEROIC in a rematch of the PGL Copenhagen Major. Now on Sunday the North American squad will battle NAVI to decide who will advance directly into the quarterfinal from Group D.
Nuke was a tough map, to be charitable to Complexity. The American squad were simply unable to get anything going on their CT-side as HEROIC pounded their way through the defenses. Complexity were down by a massive deficit to start the second half and were unable to come back from that. The offense struggled as well with Complexity only putting up two T-sided rounds before falling 13-5 on the European's pick.
Vertigo was another tough map for Complexity as they struggled to be consistent on their T-side. The Americans went back and forth with Heroic to have it tied up going into the second half, which is when they finally put some distance between themselves and the European squad. Complexity were the first to reach twelve rounds and limped over the finish line as they put a stop to HEROIC's comeback by winning Vertigo 13-11.
The series went to Anubis, as Complexity started on the T-side with a pistol round win and a 2-0 lead before HEROIC went 3-2 ahead. Complexity would go on a four round win streak before the Danes got one back. The half ended with an 8-4 North American lead. The second half started with HEROIC almost tying things up but Complexity managed to stay ahead 9-7. After an eco round that netted Complexity's 11th, HEROIC were stopped once again and needed to force buy to avoid the series loss. Complexity would win the last round and claim the 13-7 Anubis win.
Complexity are locked in the ESL Pro League Season 19 playoffs but will still play NAVI on May 5th at 01:30PM to try and lock in a spot in the quarterfinals.
