Not Made In Brazil, but still Brazil

Legacy confirm Stewie2K as stand-in trial

Is it 2018 again?

Amidst the chaos that ensued yesterday, with rioters invading the Major stage, Legacy announced the addition of Jake "Stewie2K" Yip to the active roster as a stand-in. This information had previously been reported by Dust2 Brasil.

According to the Brazilian website, Legacy is also trialing the Boston Major winner and will be looking to add him full-time should things click. Stewie2K's addition to the roster means communications will be done in English and not in Portuguese, which can bring along some difficulties.

The former Evil Geniuses player will be helping Legacy transition to the USA, which will become the team's new home. Stewie2K will start his stint as a stand-in for Legacy in the ESEA League and the Esports World Cup qualifiers.

Stewie2K left Evil Geniuses' active roster in July 2022 to focus on streaming and content creation and was sidelined from the servers for a year and a half before he stood in for Mythic during the ESL Challenger League Season 46 NA.

The 26-year-old North American isn't a stranger to joining Brazilian lineups, as he spent most of 2018, after winning the ELEAGUE Boston Major, playing with Brazilian teammates on SK and MIBR.

Legacy is set to consist of:

  • Brazil Bruno "latto" Rebelatto

  • Brazil Eduardo "dumau" Wolkmer

  • Brazil Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato

  • Brazil Bruno "b4rtiN" Câmara

  • United States Jake "Stewie2K" Yip (Trial)

  • Brazil Olavo "cky" Napoleão (Coach)
