paiN clinch final spot in DreamHack Open January over High Coast
paiN have qualified to DreamHack Open January ahead of High Coast, rounding out the team list that also features Rebirth, Triumph, and Extra Salt.
The series between paiN and High Coast kicked off on Nuke, with paiN starting their T-side in a dominant fashion, climbing up to 7-0 as Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt led the charge with nine kills. In the eighth round, a solid A-site defense saw High Coast finally put a round on the board, carrying this momentum to win the next two rounds. Unfortunately for High Coast, a 3k from biguzera in the following round shifted the map back in paiN's favor, setting up the Brazilians to win four out of the last five rounds in the half to lead 11-4.
After switching sides, High Coast won the opening pistol and the following two rounds thanks to a 3k from Rodrigo "RCF" Figueiredo on the A-site. Their comeback was quickly derailed once paiN's economy was up and rolling as the Brazilians won the next five rounds to take Nuke 16-7.
Inferno began with High Coast on the backfoot as paiN won their CT-side pistol and the next three rounds before High Coast claimed their first bomb plant and round win. After this, the remaining ten rounds were swapped back and forth between the two teams, with paiN's earlier lead allowing them to end the half up 9-6.
On their T-side, paiN once again won the opening pistol round thanks to a big play, as Wesley "hardzao" Lopes claimed a 3k in a post-plant B-site defense. A round two buy-up by High Coast allowed them to snowball and win the next rounds to climb up to 11-10, claiming the lead for the first time in the series. High Coast's lead was incredibly short-lived as paiN won round 22 before winning the next five rounds to win the series 16-11.
The team list for DreamHack Open January is now:

Extra Salt | paiN |
