Kinship on the chop-ping block
With ESEA MDL Season 36 just a month away, Kinship are on shaky footing and could be disbanding this offseason as the roster has largely dissolved, leaving Connor "chop" Sullivan to try and find a way to rebuild the roster or jump ship to another squad.
Dust2.us reached out to Sean "naes" Fontaine, who conveyed he will not be playing in ESEA MDL Season 36 and moreover intends to take an "indefinite break". naes also confirmed that Brennan "grape" Greer has switched to VALORANT. As for Christopher "Swahn" Swahn, he has departed the team's ESEA roster and told Dust2.us that he will be taking ESEA MDL Season 36 off to focus on wrapping up his college education.
Dust2.us has been unable to get in contact with Troy "ara" Pollock, but naes noted that as far as he knew ara would be coaching a VALORANT roster next year.
Potential options for chop to keep the roster alive include bringing one of his departed teammates or Ian "heretic" Carfora back in for the requisite matches to maintain ESEA's core requirement. However, heretic has also left CS:GO in search of greener pastures in VALORANT.
Another viable alternative for chop is to just let the Kinship roster die and join another roster for Season 36, and he was seen playing in ESEA's second Winter Cash Cup over the weekend with RBG. Dust2.us confirmed with Jadan "HexT" Postma that chop and the other new faces that played with him this weekend are all currently trying out for the roster. chop noted that things are still "up in the air" when it comes to his tryout and that his future remains uncertain at this time.
ESEA MDL Season 36 is set to begin on January 18th.
