Carpe Diem and MIGHT rise in standings | ECL S47 Roundup Day 4
Last night's ESL Challenger League Season 47 action saw Carpe Diem climb up to a 3-1 record with two close wins over Limitless. Meanwhile, LAG have continued to show good form in their first season of ECL by trading maps with MIGHT, albeit with MIGHT fielding Nolan "Louie" Herges standing in for Dans "danss" Sils.
Carpe Diem 2-0 Limitless
Map one, Inferno, saw Carpe Diem in the driver's seat as they won their opening T-side pistol before using the momentum to climb up to a 9-3 lead. After switching sides, despite Limitless winning their own T-side pistol, they were never able to retake the initiative as Carpe Diem held onto their lead on Inferno to take the map 13-10.
Moving onto Nuke, Carpe Diem was once again in a dominant position, winning another T-side pistol and then the next six rounds before ultimately taking the half 8-4. Despite efforts once again from Limitless to take control they failed once again as Carpe Diem outpaced them to take map two 13-9. While the win was a group effort, Jack "micro" Ryan was the team's standout player on map one, posting a 1.51 rating to help the team start their night off in a winning fashion.
LAG 1-1 MIGHT
Over in the second series of the night, MIGHT were notably without their Latvian import as spring break at his school denied him access to a computer on campus. However, in the first map, Mirage, this did not matter for much as MIGHT fought a close 5-7 CT-side before putting on a near-perfect T-side to take Mirage 13-9.
Heading into the second map of the night, Ancient, the match was once again a 7-5 start, albeit with LAG winning their opening T-side 7-5. After switching sides, the second half ended up being the closest of the night before Nick "nicx" Lee led his squad to a 13-10 victory.
