Uber set to play first LAN in 6 years with Jonji, calamity
Former compLexity and Selfless player Michael "Uber" Stapells has announced his intentions to attend launders LAN 2 in April, marking the 27-year-old player's first LAN in nearly six years. He is set to be joined by a number of known Canadian players, including former BNB player Jonathan "Jonji" Carey and current ESEA Advanced player Stanley "calamity" Chiu.
For context, Uber's last LAN was ESL Pro League Season 8 NA Relegation all the way back in 2018, where he successfully helped Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen's Rogue hold onto their EPL spot.
Uber announced his intent to return to competition back in March 2023, however, this return was short-lived as a promotion at work, and a busy personal life saw CS put on the back burner once again. Uber did attend Mohan "launders" Govindasamy, FragFest Toronto, which likely inspired the idea of playing in the second one.
For those who do not remember Uber or were not in the scene at the time, the Canadian was a modestly successful player during the early days of CS:GO, playing with the likes of Kenneth "koosta" Suen, Noah "Nifty" Francis, and Rory "dephh" Jackson from 2014 to 2018. His most notable achievement was playing the MLG Columbus 2016 Offline Qualifier with Selfless while also playing in a number of early ESL Pro League seasons.
Uber's squad will consist of:
-
Michael "Uber" Stapells
-
Jonathan "Jonji" Carey
-
Stanley "calamity" Chiu
-
Sean "Inseaniac" Morrison
