cadiaN: "The one thing we're lacking is consistency"
Liquid entered the Americas RMR as a peculiar team. They had everything on paper to be one of the best teams in the world, best team in the Americas should have been a foregone conclusion. However, today's result throws all that out of the window. FURIA took down the international superteam in 13-10 fashion. Not a convincing victory for the panthers, but a loss that could spell trouble for Liquid's newest project.
After the match, Dust2.us' Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore spoke with the team's in-game leader, Casper "cadiaN" Møller, about the loss, what went wrong, and the team's issues.

Close game but FURIA came away with the win. It's FalleN's first win against you since 2019; what went wrong there?
It was a tight game, back and forth, close scoreline all the way through. I think it was just the 2v2, 3v3, mid-round situations where they played it better than us. That's what made the difference.
Many say that this roster is the most mechanically skilled ever assembled under the Liquid banner, but we have seen some deficiencies in the play. When you and zews were creating this roster, was there an expectation that you would come online right away, or is this a long-term project.
Of course you want to be good from day one, but obviously its clear to everyone that we've had a few struggles. We're still finding our identity and I think even if you look at other projects that are out there, who have assembled a new team, so to say, they've changed less than we have. Here we have a new coach, new captain, three new players in total. Everything is very new. Around this month, next month, is when we should look to be more consistent. The one thing we're lacking is consistency.
With your calling, you're also trying to implement a fairly unique style that we saw on Heroic, a very fluid style. Here, you have players like YEKINDAR who's more used to an opening style and some who are more used to static roles. Especially with YEKINDAR, we've seen him struggle to transition from the old Liquid to the new Liquid, why do you think he struggled to find his footing?
I don't think we're playing the Heroic style at all, to be honest. YEKINDAR has been doing really well in practice. I think it's just a matter of time until he shows the same level in official games. I also think he's had good maps and rounds. It's about to come.
