06:05PM - Elevate can't close Overpass and have been eliminated
Right after Nouns' elimination, Elevate have also exited the Major qualifier after a 9-3 CT-side lead on Overpass that turned into a 13-10 loss. All in all, Elevate went to Mexico with a stand-in and were still able to cause a lot of problems against experienced Brazilian players.
05:50PM - Nouns eliminated; Elevate close to losing
Another NA team exits Monterrey with a 0-2 record as Nouns lost to Legacy 2-1 with another lackluster Inferno T-side. Elevate are currently leading 10-9 on the T-side of Overpass, but round wins have been hard to find.
05:40PM - Things are not looking good for NA
Nouns are on the brink of elimination, as Legacy leads with a comfortable 11-5 scoreline. Elevate are close to surviving Day 2 with a 9-4 lead against ODDIK.
04:55PM - You get a decider, you get a decider, everybody gets a decider!
Nouns were unable to stop Legacy, as well as ODDIK couldn't stop Elevate and now everyone will have one last map to play for a spot in the Day 3 of the Americas RMR. 13-4 in favor of Legacy and 13-10 for the Elevate boys. Inferno next for Nouns, Overpass on the menu for Elevate.
04:45PM - Nouns trail 8-4 at the half; Elevate close to winning map
Overpass hasn't been the best map for Nouns, as the team went to the halftime break with an 8-4 deficit, only to start the second half with two round losses. As for Elevate, the North Americans are showing good signs of taking the win on Ancient, as they lead 11-8
04:35PM - Good T-side from Elevate; Nouns starting slow
Elevate entered the second map with a good T-side, posting eight round wins on Ancient in the first half. They have a healthy lead that can turn into a comfortable Ancient win in the second half. Nouns are starting slow on the CT-side of Overpass, winning just a couple of rounds against Legacy's five.
04:04PM - Nouns go up 1-0 against Legacy
Nouns have managed to stop Leagcy's attack ever since the last article update, winning Vertigo 13-9. The North American squad now hope to close the series on Overpass. Elevate are returning to the server in a few minutes, to play on their own pick of Ancient.
03:55PM - Elevate go down 1-0 against ODDIK; Legacy putting up a fight against Nouns
Things are not looking easy for North American teams in this second set of games. Elevate were almost able to come away with a victory on Anubis, picked by ODDIK, but the Brazilians were able to win the map 13-11. As for Nouns, they are tied 9-9 against Legacy on the CT-side of Vertigo. Things are heating up in Mexico.
03:43PM - Nouns lead at the half; Elevate tied
The roles have swapped as Nouns have managed to finish the T-side of Vertigo with a solid 7-5 lead against Legacy. On the other hand, Elevate are struggling to get things going on the T-side of Anubis, as they are tied 9-9.
03:32PM - Elevate lead at the half; Nouns tied
Elevate have started off with a good CT-side on Anubis, racking up seven round wins against ODDIK's five, on the Brazilians' map pick. Nouns are tied 3-3 against Legacy after losing the pistol round and the following round early on.
03:00PM - Nouns to take on Legacy; Elevate already live against ODDIK
The second set of BO3 elimination series is here. Nouns are facing Legacy while Elevate will try to defeat ODDIK. The former timbermen are already playing and leading 2-1 on Anubis' CT-side.
03:00PM - NRG are out
The Canadians couldn't close out Anubis, allowing MIBR to mount a comeback and send the map to overtime. Once there, the Brazilians only allowed a single-round win and finished the series with a 16-13 Anubis.
02:43PM - Wildcard win the second map
Wildcard have defeated BESTIA 2-0, with a 13-4, keeping their hopes of making the major alive while sending the Argentinians home. NRG are looking to send things to a third map, as they hold on on Anubis with a 11-10 lead at the moment
02:33PM - Both NA teams lead at the half
The situation is very different, but both NRG and Wildcard have gone to halftime with the lead in their respective matches. NRG went to the CT-side with a 7-5 lead that has become an 8-8 tie. Wildcard have stopped BESTIA with an 8-4 CT-side and just now the second half pistol round, setting them up to a good T-side.
02:05PM - Break is over, second maps underway
There is still one map to be played in both series, as Wildcard hope to take the 2-0 win, whereas NRG look to take the series to a decider. Right now Wildcard are leading 3-0 on Anubis' CT-side, picked by BESTIA. NRG are also playing on Anubis, but on the T-side and are also leading, 5-1.
01:50PM - Wildcard win map one
Wildcard have managed to close out Mirage 13-9 after a small comeback from the Argentinian team. Sonic led the charge with 21 kills, but the spotlight goes to Infinite, who has bounced back from yesterday's poor performance.
01:45PM - NRG one map away from elimination; Wildcard one round away from 1-0 lead
Once again, NRG were unable to win more than two rounds in a single map as MIBR comfortably took the Canadians' map pick of Inferno 13-2. Wildcard are struggling to close out Mirage as BESTI is closing in 9-12.
01:37PM - NRG end half with round win, trail 10-2; Wildcard close to winning Mirage
It was not a good look for NRG, as MIBR is going to halftime with a 10-2 lead. The Canadian squad hopes to turn things around on the CT-side. Wildcard are close to winning their pick of Mirage, but BESTIA are mounting a comeback. It's currently 11-7 in favor of the North Americans on the CT-side.
01:30PM - Wildcard lead at the half 8-4; NRG struggling early on Inferno T-side
Wildcard are putting on a much better show compared to yesterday, as they have reached halftime with an 8-4 lead against BESTIA. Now going to the CT-side, things are looking good for the North Americans, as they have also claimed the second half pistol round. As for NRG, the Canadians are having trouble against MIBR's CT-side, only winning a single round so far, as the Brazilians lead 7-1.
01:05PM - Elimination BO3s are underway with Wildcard v. BESTIA; MIBR v. NRG starts shortly
After yesterday's losses, eight teams are on the brink of elimination today, with four of them being NA. Wildcard and NRG are the first ones to face their 0-1 opponents in BESTIA and MIBR, respectively. Wildcard are starting off on their pick of Mirage and have already won the T-side pistol round. Anubis will follow, with Inferno as the decider. NRG are going to have to wait a little bit to take the stage, but they should be starting very soon.
12:55PM - Dreams of a Liquid, M80, and Complexity 2-0 bracket are dashed
Liquid fail to put together a strong enough CT-side as FURIA pounce into the 2-0 bracket and are still hopeful of making it to the Major. Liquid are headed into the elimination matches and will need to fix their mistakes today.
12:44PM - 13-3, yeeesh
M80 are sent to the 1-1 bracket, where they will have to fight off elimination. The team looks pretty despondant after the match and will need to figure out what went wrong on Anubis before they play in their BO3 tomorrow. Liquid and FURIA are still going neck and neck right now, with the Canadian centric side a little on the back foot.
12:39PM - M80 are having a ROUGH time
It's, uh, not going great for M80. Down 10-3 and not looking like they are getting any better. It's a tough fall for the team that looked very competent yesterday. While there is always a chance for a comeback, the squad is on the CT-side and not ina position to do so. Oh well, onto the next.
12:28PM - It's a quick first half for Liquid as they have to come from behind on their CT-side down 7-5
Liquid struggled to find a consistent offense going in the first half of the game. The finish the half with only five offensive rounds despite winning the opening pistol. IN the other match, M80 are also struggling on their T-side as they are down 3-5 on Anubis, a map that usually favors the offense.
12:05PM - Liquid and FURIA kick off!
Playing on Mirage, Liquid will hopefully find a way to get to the 2-0 games where they will find out their opponent by the end of the night. As for FURIA, FalleN has not beaten cadiaN since 2019, so maybe that trend continues?
11:47AM - Complexity win 13-10, NA's heart rate is through the roof
An incredible back and forth game ends with Complexity's hallzerk securing the most insane 1v4 clutch to win the game!
11:41AM- Clutch after clutch, oh my days
Hallzerk goes ahead with a 1v3 clutch to secure an 11th round for Complexity and then BOSS somehow pull out an unwinnable retake with a loss surely meaning a broken economy and guaranteed loss. This game is utterly bonkers. 11-9, to Complexity.
11:37AM - THIS CANNOT BE MORE STRESSFUL
help my two favorite teams are the rmr are fighting and it's actually incredibly close what if we let both teams win (it's 10-8 Complexity leading)
11:24AM - It a 7-5 half for BOSS and Complexity is S T R E S S E D
I hate to say it, but BOSS are BOSSin Complexity around. A 7-5 half for the orgless squad and this Complexity team is scratching their heads. They have to win the pistol round to stay competitive for sure.
11:15AM - BOSS gets an early lead, but Complexity roar right back
It was a quick 4-1 lead for BOSS, but a timeout on the orgless side seemed to allow Complexity to compose themselves and figure out what was going wrong. If four is all BOSS get on their T-side, I don't think they'll be too unhappy.
11:01AM - Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand we're off!
It's time for Ancient, again, I guess. Oh well, at least we can hopefully see another way that this is approached. Complexity are starting out on the CT side and BOSS on the T-side. The orgless side have already won the pistol, so Complexity will need to figure out how to comeback already.
10:30AM - Let Day 2 begin
After a first day with some upsets and blowouts, the PGL Copenhagen Major Americas RMR is back for the second day. Today, there will be four teams packing, as the first elimination series will be played in the second half of the schedule. Before the elimination BO3s, the winning teams from yesterday will be playing for a chance to go up 2-0. North America has four teams on the brink of elimination as NRG, Wildcard, Nouns, and Elevate all lost during the opening matches. On the other hand, Complexity, BOSS, Liquid, and M80 are yet to lose in Monterrey. The first games start at 11:00AM.
