SLIGHT was invaluable on the AWP for Wildcard

Wildcard and timbermen set to clash for BLAST Premier Spring Showdown spot

Upsets were the name of the game last night.

Day three of Ace North American Masters Spring 2024 came to a close last night, with upsets abound as Wildcard managed to take down Nouns while timbermen sent NRG packing to set up the first-ever clash between the two teams.

Both Wildcard and timbermen are going to be gunning for each other as they will look to claim a spot in the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown, which would also be the first European trip for both teams.

Last night's action started off with Wildcard staring down Nouns in a three-map series. On the Wildcard side, they had a stand-in in the form of Ian "motm" Hardy as Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek was unavailable due to a personal matter.

Fortunately for Wildcard, motm was quite up to the task as the team fired the first salvo on Overpass, taking the map 16-12 in overtime with motm just behind Keller "SLIGHT" Nilan on the scoreboard. Moving into map two, Nouns struck back with a strong showing on Vertigo, winning the map 13-9 and forcing the series onto Inferno.

With the series tied up, Inferno proved to be another close map, going all the way to the 24th round, seeing SLIGHT once again come up clutch for his team as they claimed the map 13-11.

The second series of the night started with NRG in the driver's seat as Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte put on a dominant performance as the Canadian team took Inferno 13-7 with little difficulty. However, things began to slip away from NRG in map two, Mirage, as the orgless team rallied to force overtime and narrowly take the map 16-14.

This comeback would then coalesce on Vertigo as Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell and Deni "dea" Ediev were an unstoppable force on the map, helping to utterly dominate and take the map 13-6 and the series 2-1.

I think Peeping and Dea have been solid pick-ups for Timberman. Hopefully they keep it going with this roster and build some stability and results.
