Wildcard and NRG advance to Ace North American Masters Spring 2024 playoffs
After a day one that saw Nouns and timbermen come out on top of Group A to the detriment of BOSS and Rocket, the two teams have found their opponents in Wildcard and NRG, who have done the same in Group B.
Wildcard and NRG bested Party Astronauts and Carpe Diem in order to reach the playoffs but the job is only halfway done. The playoffs start today in a single-elimination bracket, which means it's do or die as the four teams hunt for a single spot in the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown.
Group B started with two very close matches, as Wildcard survived Carpe Diem 13-11 and NRG also just barely got away with a 13-10 win over Party Astronauts. The two winning teams faced each other, with the Canadian squad not able to get things going on the T-side of Overpass, losing the match 13-8 after only getting one round win on the offense.
With Wildcard already booking their spot in the playoffs, NRG would wait for the winner of Party Astronauts vs. Carpe Diem to see who would compete with Damian "daps" Steele and co. for the last playoff spot. Party Astronauts comfortably won the Ancient match 13-6 and went on to face NRG.
The map between NRG and Party Astronauts would also finish 13-6 but this time it would be in favor of the Canadian team, netting them the final playoff spot.
The playoffs start today at 04:00PM with timbermen facing NRG in a BO3 series. After that match, Nouns and Wildcard will face off to decide who is the last team to reach the grand final. The winner of the Ace NA Masters Spring 2024 will travel to Europe to compete in the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024 for a spot in the BLAST Premier Spring Final.
