Complexity secure playoffs in BLAST Fall Final after marathon comeback

Fourteen rounds in a row for the North American team.

In each team's opening match at the BLAST Fall Final, Astralis and Complexity made fireworks in the server. Complexity, eager to prove that their IEM Sydney performance was not a fluke, are looking for a solid result. Astralis have nothing to lose, seemingly ready to make changes after this Fall Final no matter the result.

On Astralis' pick of Ancient, Complexity held firm on their chosen CT-side start. A pistol victory kickstarted a seven-round CT-side half, but it was on the T-side that Complexity really showed their mettle. Four rounds to start gave an incredible 11-5 lead. Astralis made an effort to come back, matching Complexity's four-in-a-row with four of their own, but Complexity just needed two to steal Astralis' map pick and that's exactly what they did.

Overpass was a marathon affair and truly encapsulates what it's like to be a Complexity fan. Astralis pistol facilitated an Astralis conversion which facilitated a 10-2 half. Round after round Complexity's attack was rebuffed, and it the book seemed all but closed for the North American team. An Astralis pistol and conversion should have been the nail in the coffin, but, as Scrawny so aptly put it in the middle of the second half, "just cause you're losing, doesn't mean you have to play like a loser."

Johnny "JT" Theodosiou with a clinic on the B-site and Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski and Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli worked perfectly with one another on the A-site to completely stifle Astralis' offense. Astralis were countered at every turn. Complexity switched up playstyles, positions, and setups every single round to catch the hometown heroes off guard, with Astralis only netting a single bomb plant in that whole comeback, on the 24th round. Of course, it was none other than JT to win a 1v1 clutch to send the game to overtime, who then won it flawlessly, completing the comeback from 2-12 to 16-12.

that was an amazing match, and probably the best comeback in CS2 so far!
