ESL Impact Season 4 NA Week 6 - Highlights and Recap

Nothing is set in stone entering the last day of games.

With a different schedule than what we are used to, Week 6 had some of the most entertaining series of the season. Although the first day didn't have much excitement, the second day more than compensated for it, with two overtimes and lots of close calls.

In this article you can find a recap of the four series of the week, the top three highlights and performers of the games.

The first day is an easily forgettable one, EG Gold destroyed Hyperion 13-2 in Nuke and 13-3 in Ancient. Totsugeki and Cherry Bombs also had a quick encounter with Totsugeki winning Nuke 13-8 and Inferno 13-4.

The second day was completely different. Tsunami Sirens and Karma had one of the most balanced series of this season, with Tsunami Sirens winning Ancient 13-6, Karma winning Anubis 19-15, and Tsunami Sirens closing the series 13-9 in Overpass. FlyQuest RED and Shimmer also had a great series, with the RED squad winning Mirage 16-14 and Overpass 13-4.

Shimmer debuted Phoebe "phoebe" Winter, the Aussie import, who had a good series taking into account the context of her addition and numerous tech issues during the series. Despite the loss and the tough scenario that looms above their heads, even if the worst happens to the squad, finishing fifth in the league would lose them the direct invite for next season, this looks like a qualifying side given the time for the players to adapt to their new roles and teammates.

Top 3 Performances

#1 United States Lydia "Fawx" Dalton - Tsunami Sirens

Fawx played out of her mind against Karma, something we are used to, lately, but not against this type of competition. This was probably the most important game for the Sirens' side and Fawx, alongside Mira "mira" Luna, had a crucial role in securing the win for her team.

#2 Australia Vivienne "BiBiAhn" Quach - FlyQuest RED

BiBiAhn is another player who is used to getting great numbers, but yesterday she did it against FlyQuest RED's direct opponents, Shimmer. Being of capital importance during Mirage, which was as close as it could get, BiBiAhn secured another appearance in the Top 3 Performances of the week.

#3 United States Mira "mira" Luna - Tsunami Sirens

We have already mentioned her, so it's natural she gets a spot of her own. Although mira didn't get as many kills as Fawx, she was always the most consistent piece of the Sirens squad. Having someone as reliable as mira proved to be a key to unlocking the game against Karma.

Top 3 Highlights

#1 United States Vanessa "vanessa" Gideon (EG Gold) - 1v3 clutch

vanessa is a known clutch player, so this might not surprise anyone. A lot of situational knowledge can be seen in this 1v3 clutch.

#2 Australia Phoebe "phoebe" Winter (Shimmer) - 1v2 clutch with 4K

It was her first game with Shimmer and phoebe has already shown great signs, enough to scare most opponents. In this case, she got a 4K round with a 1v2 clutch to end the force buy.

#3 United States Cynthia "katalyyst" Sheerajin (Totsugeki) - 1v3 clutch

With little time to think, katalyyst managed to plant the bomb and pull off an incredible 1v3 clutch.

Shot of the week - United States Cass "tokkis" Dellinger (Totsugeki) - 3K Headshot only Deagle

I know it's not just "one" shot, but it qualifies. Three amazing Deagle headshots from tokkis to secure a force buy win and shut down Cherry Bombs' hopes.
