Brazilian superstar turned down Liquid
Liquid are in the process of making a star-studded Americas-focused roster as they heavily pursue former Heroic IGL Casper "cadiaN" Møller and their former rifler, Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken. Dust2.us understands that both players have verbally agreed to join Liquid, however, no contracts have been signed at this time.
One of the more curious signings is of Felipe "skullz" Medeiros from paiN. His reported buyout of $600,000 has caused many to scratch their heads at why Liquid would go for someone that expensive and not having proven themselves on the international stage yet. However, skullz was the second choice for Liquid as the Los Angeles-based organization first wanted Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato from FURIA.
Dust2.us understands that Liquid held discussions with the Brazilian superstar who flirted with the idea of joining. While Liquid made a big push for the player, it was not enough to fully convince KSCERATO to leave FURIA. Liquid, understanding that the rifler was not enthusiastic about joining the project, moved on from their attempts and remained solely focused on skullz as their new Brazilian player.
Liquid have recognized that their performance over the last several months has not been sufficient for the organization's expectations. The squad has already benched Aleks "Rainwaker" Petrov, likely benching Robert "Patsi" Isyanov, have informed Josh "oSee" Ohm that he can explore his options, and are looking to replace Damian "daps" Steele with Brazilian coach Wilton "zews" Prado.
