chrisJ led by example against OpTic

mousesports eliminate OpTic on way to semifinals

chrisJ and ropz outfragged OpTic on two maps to secure a spot in the playoffs.

The final game of Group A between OpTic and mousesports was to be decided on Nuke, Train, and Overpass. The winner of the best of three would advance to the playoffs and face Astralis tomorrow while the loser would go home.

Kevin "HS" Tarn and Óscar "mixwell" Cañellas helped OpTic to take the first two rounds of Nuke. mousesports managed to take the round three pistol buy though, as Robin "ropz" Kool picked up two kills with a dropped AK-47, and tied up the game 2-2. OpTic didn't let mouz take the lead however with mixwell powering his team to five rounds.

Martin "STYKO" Styk and ropz led the small comeback for the mousesports side, with the Chris "chrisJ" de Jong-led squad finally taking the lead on the CT side. The momentum that mousesports gained carried them through the rest of the half, ending with a 10-5 lead.

Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný kept the form of his team onto the T side as well, with mouz taking the first three rounds, leading to a 13-5 score. chrisJ and the rest of his team dominated the OpTic side, quickly acquiring map point. OpTic could only manage two rounds in an attempt to come back, but ropz shut down their hopes and secured Nuke 16-7.

Miikka "suNny" Kemppi, who was fairly quiet on Nuke, began Train with a bang, with five kills in the first two rounds. Like the previous map, OpTic answered back with two of their own rounds by way of HS CZ-75, but ropz kept Adam "friberg" Friberg's men at bay. OpTic eventually managed to win round 11 to make the score 3-8, but were unable to convert and were economically reset.

mousesports continued their domination for the rest of their Terrorist half, with chrisJ closing out the final round with a triple for a 12-3 scoreline.

OpTic lost yet another pistol round on the second half of Train, but they took round three and strung a few together in the beginning of a comeback attempt. HS led the way for his team, as they won round after round, closing the gap against mousesports. OpTic managed to make the scoreline 12-14, but two close rounds then went the way of mousesports despite the efforts of friberg, allowing mouz to take the map 16-12 and the series 2-0.
