FLUFFY AIMERS White and Cherry Bombs grab last ESL Impact S4 NA spots

The group is set, now the question is who will head to Valencia?

The last open qualifier for ESL Impact Season 4 North American division ended yesterday with FLUFFY AIMERS White and Cherry Bombs winning their respective series in order to secure the last two spots in the group stage.

Of all the players in the two teams, only Daria "daria" Anokhina from FA White, had participated in a previous edition of the ESL Impact NA division. Meaning, that for the nine other players this will be the first time having a shot of making it to the LAN Finals.

The first map of FA White vs. BeepBeep was very close and tight until the very end, as FA White managed to get away with a 16-14 win. The second map was the complete opposite as BeepBeep only got five rounds on the board, as the map ended 16-5, and FA White had gotten revenge from the first qualifier.

On the other side of the bracket, Loot Goblins and Cherry Bombs had an intense series all throughout. The first map, Inferno, ended 16-7 to Cherry Bombs after an 11-4 T-side. Overpass, picked by Loot Goblins, was looking like a blowout, as Cherry Bombs had another 11-4 half, this time on the CT-side, but Loot Goblins came back to a 16-12 scoreline, only allowing one single T-side round win from Cherry Bombs. The Ancient decider delivered on all fronts. Loot Goblins had a 7-0 lead to start off the map on the T-side, Cherry Bombs managed to shorten the distance at halftime with a 10-5 deficit. Cherry Bombs strung together some rounds and tied the game 14-14. Once there, it got scrappy but Cherry Bombs closed the map 16-14, and claimed their spot in ESL Impact S4 NA.

With the four qualified teams joining the four invited teams, the stage is set for ESL Impact Season 4 North American division to start, but there's still a roster that needs to be revealed as Detonate SparX have been invited but have recently lost all of their players, having no active roster at the moment. Without taking SparX into account, the fourth season of ESL Impact NA will have 16 players making their group stage debut, showing that new players are coming into the scene as seasons go by.

The group stage is scheduled to start on the 13th of September and will feature a change, going from two groups of four teams to a single group of eight. It will be a round-robin format with all games being BO3. There won't be a playoff stage, as the top two from the group will go to Valencia.

The teams playing the group stage are:

Detonate SparX - Invited
United States Evil Geniuses Gold - Invited
FlyQuest RED - Invited
United States Shimmer - Invited

United States Karma - #1 Open Qualifier
United States Totsugeki - #1 Open Qualifier
United States FLUFFY AIMERS White - #2 Open Qualifier
United States Cherry Bombs - #2 Open Qualifier
