Complexity flounders against Astralis
With both Complexity and Astralis having been kicked down during the group play, the two sides met once more in the first knockout round of the BLAST Premier Fall Groups. Complexity were Group A's third-best team and found them seeded against Group B's worst team, Astralis. The winner of this matchup would have the unfortunate honor of playing against Liquid.
The match started off on Astralis' pick of Vertigo where Complexity found themselves in the driver's seat thanks to a quick 7-2 lead. However, that lead wouldn't last for too long as the Danes came storming back to take the first half 8-7. A second pistol went Complexity's way, allowing the Americans to take a 11-8 lead. That lead would once again be lost as Astralis stormed back to win the map, 16-12.
Complexity, down one map, would be able to head to their home map of Overpass but were in for a surprise. Astralis' CT-side was absolutely dominant, preventing Complexity from getting a single-round win until the 11th round, and holding them to only four kills through six rounds. A 12-3 half spelled disaster as Complexity were deep in the hole. A weak second half would mean that Complexity lose their own map pick 16-4.
Complexity, now out of BLAST Premier Fall Groups, will head to IEM Cologne where they replaced paiN. Their first match is against Fnatic on July 26th.
