ATK and Nouns invited to Melbourne closed qualifier
ESL have announced their invites for the North American closed qualifier for ESL Challenger Melbourne, with ATK and Nouns being granted safe passage to the closed qualifier based on their recent performances. The two squads will be joined by two teams from the open qualifier.
ATK are currently on the way back from Europe after participating in Group D of ESL Pro League where despite being unable to win match they have shown some positive signs, in particular the performances of Michael "Swisher" Schmid. Melbourne would be another chance for ATK to test themselves against European opposition and with it being a Challenger event the opposition in theory won't be as tough as their Pro League opponents.
Meanwhile, Nouns have refound their form since the addition of Mexican Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado, recently qualifying to IEM Dallas and the BLAST Premier Spring American Showdown. Nouns are yet to test their new lineup against European opposition and playing Melbourne alongside Dallas would be a great opportunity.
The two teams joining ATK and Nouns will be decided from the sole open qualifier, which can be signed up for here and is set to start on March 19th.
