NRG eliminate North at EPL; OpTic shut down Misfits
NRG, fresh off a victory over NiP, began their run against North with a pistol round win. Jacob "FugLy" Medina cleans up with the UMP-45 to secure the first three, but Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke answered back with his own quadruple to take the first gun round. North quickly equalized the score with some good frags by René "cajunb" Borg, and they took the lead with an easy triple by Philip "aizy" Aistrup. NRG kept the score very close against the Danes, taking back the lead and ending the half 9-6.
NRG took the other pistol round of the game, and followed it up with three more rounds to make the score 13-6. North finally managed to mount a defense, and with the efforts of aizy, were able to string three rounds together. Cvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov didn't allow the Danish side double digits though, as a big quadruple kill put NRG in position to take the map. NRG then close out the map and take out North 16-9.
OpTic opened up Overpass by winning the CT-side pistol and the two following rounds. The two teams traded the next rounds, and Misfits seemed for a moment to pull away, but OpTic answered right back with rounds of their own. Just as it looked like Misfits were gaining momentum, a ridiculous deagle ace from Emil "Magisk" Reif saw them crumble — and OpTic would finish the half 10-5.
Misfits gave themselves a chance by winning their own CT pistol and adding four rounds on top of it, tying the score up at 10. From here though, the Europeans took over, and led by Magisk, Aleksi "allu" Jalli and Óscar "mixwell" Cañellas, they ran over Misfits for six straight rounds to get the victory, 16-10.
With these results, Misfits, NRG, and OpTic all hold 2-1 records and sit at the top of the Group B table. Misfits will face NiP and SK tomorrow, while NRG will face SK and OpTic. OpTic will face the aforementioned NRG along with North. It is unlikely North will be able to advance to the playoffs after their results today, but will nonetheless face OpTIc and NiP tomorrow.
