Misfits overcome an NRG challenge for the win

It's Sean "seang@res" Gares and co. to claim the North American derby at the ESL Pro League S6 Finals.

The first match of Group B was an all North-American affair, as it saw NRG take on Misfits. The game was vetoed down to a best-of-one shoot-out on Overpass, as the two sides attempt to claim a slot in the playoffs.

Misfits kicked off on the T-side, and it was them who struck first. Taking the pistol round and the following anti-ecos, they were looking strong at the start. Misfits took the first full buy round, which then sent NRG into an eco, which they took close to winning before being denied by David "devoduvek" Dobrosavljevic at the end. A strong B-retake then saw NRG notch a round up, and prevented theirselves being eco'd again by keeping a strong A-site hold. With NRG now starting a run, a strong B-take from Misfits was defended by a mystical Cvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov, using the AWP like a shotgun in and around smokes to close on Misfits lead.

At 6-4, Misfits once again struck back to keep a lead, before NRG instantly answered back to keep their hand in the game. On an eco, Misfits smash their way into an unsuspecting NRG to make sure they remain in charge of the match. The two sides then traded rounds before the Misfits take the final round of the first half, going in at a 9-6 lead.

The second half kicked off with an explosive NRG coming up to claim the pistol round, secured by the strong performance by Allan "AnJ" Jensen. Picking up the next two rounds, it was then Misfits who collected the first full buy round to make sure they kept their lead on check. From there Misfits kept running, collecting round after round to secure a 13-9 lead, the last thanks to a Sean "seang@res" Gares lead retake to defuse the bomb.

A close 1v1 between Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan and Allan "AnJ" Jensen was taken by the Misfits player to secure his team's 14th round. It was then Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte to crack open the A-site to keep NRG in the game, before completing the round following with a successful bomb explosion. Misfits then complete a quasi-buy round to place them on match point, where NRG couldn't do the same on their own mixed buy. Misfits take the match  16-11 and secure the first win in the ESL Pro League.
