GODSENT add legendary player as co-CEO
GODSENT have made a major addition to their organization, recruiting legendary player and former NiP manager Emil "HeatoN" Christensen as co-CEO to spearhead the organization's return to CS:GO. GODSENT previously hosted a successful Brazilian squad until June when it was acquired by 00 Nation as part of their long-touted overhaul.
HeatoN joins GODSENT with an incredible resume that dates back to the very beginning of Counter-Strike as an esport. With NiP and SK, HeatoN won five Counter-Strike Majors, including the inaugural event in Dallas all the way back in 2001 — CPL Winter 2001. After hanging up the mouse in 2007, and following a brief coaching career, HeatoN played a pivotal role in reviving the Ninjas in Pyjamas brand in 2012, signing the legendary 87-0 core that would challenge for the trophy in the first five CS:GO Majors.
In the announcement of HeatoN's signing, GODSENT confirmed their plans to return to CS:GO, however they did not specify what region they would be pursuing for 2023. While the addition of HeatoN likely suggests GODSENT would be targeting a Swedish or European squad, GODSENT have built up a fairly large Brazilian so it will be interesting to what direction they take moving forward.
To speculate a bit, GODSENT may be tempted to build a team consisting of a legendary Swedish player or two alongside younger Swedish talent a la EYEBALLERS, especially with former NIP player like Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg, Adam "friberg" Friberg, and Jonas "Lekr0" Olofsson currently sitting in free agency following the collapse of Dignitas.
