Katie climbs down from Ascent

With the MDL season over for the team, the young player has opted to go her own way for several reasons.

Shortly after Ascent's MDL Season 31 campaign ended last night with a loss to New Identity, Kaitlin "Katie" Boop announced her departure from the team.

The team performed well in their rookie MDL season, with a 9-7 record seeing them narrowly miss playoffs due to their loss to oNe.

When contacted by Dust2.us, Katie shared that her reasons for leaving the team were due to personality conflicts, as well as a period of self-doubt that has led to her not enjoying the game. It should be noted that Katie's 1.09 rating during the MDL season had her tied with David "Sneaky" Polster" for highest on the team.

The player also stressed she has no ill-will towards her former teammates, saying the following:

No disrespect to them, they're all great people and good players which allowed us to get so far this season... I wouldn't be surprised if they made playoffs next season though, with who ever they decide to pick up.

Katie also stated that she is trying to show her parents that playing CS and streaming can be a viable stream of income, as they want her to pursue a more traditional career. A few more $400 days of FPL should do nicely on that front.

Ascent are now:

  • United States Joshua "KiiroKami" Kim
  • Canada Marc-Andre "NiSMO" Tayar
  • United States David "Sneaky" Polster
  • United States Chris "riku" Piasecki
  • United States Steven "HeartBreaker" Cropley (Coach)

With MDL complete, Ascent's calendar is currently clear of upcoming events. As of the publication of this article, the team had not responded to Dust2.us regarding their plans to replace Katie for the upcoming season.

Dust2 Birthday cake!
Can't mock someone trying to chase the dream, gl Katie.

As for ascent, it's good they have time to think it over. I hope they find a suitable candidate for their team.
