EG.PA claim Fragadelphia 17 title

After an arduous Last Chance Qualifier, and an unforgiving group stage, Fragadelphia 17 has finally reached the playoff stage, where eight squads will be duking it out for the lion's share of the $100,000 prize pool. There are only five squads with North Americans and three with only foreign players. Can NA keep the Frag 17 title at home?

01:05AM - EG.PA finally close out the series

Despite early closeness between the two sides, EG.PA pulled through towards the end of the first half, and ran away with the match in the second half to hoist the Fragadelphia 17 trophy after an arduous series.

EG.PA 2 - 1 vs BIG Academy

12:05AM - BIG Academy strike back with a map victory

Despite EG.PA looking confident after securing their pick of Nuke, the North American side floundered on their opponent's selection of Vertigo. While the first half was relatively close, with the Germans coming out on top 9-6, the second half gave EG.PA no room to breathe as BIG Academy smothered them on the defense to claim the map 16-6.

11:20PM - Evil Geniuses take first map against BIG Academy

Evil Geniuses got off to a flying start on their pick of Nuke to kick off the grand final, locking down an 11-4 half despite some early blunders. The American side fumbled the second pistol round, allowing the young Germans to build up momentum to eventually tie up the match 11-11. Evil Geniuses reamined unphased as they composed themselves to claim the first map 16-11. The two squads are now set to play on Vertigo for the second map of the series.

09:35PM - BIG ACADEMY UPSET APEKS AND PROCEED TO THE FINAL!!

The second map was a crazy one-sided affair for Apeks. 16:4 on Nuke!! Then another it went to Dust2 where we double over time for the amazing finish!

A clean and quick 2-0 with Team oNe unable to reach double digits on either map sees the Evil Geniuses team progress to the grand final...

07:00PM - BIG Academy and EG claim their first maps!

BIG Academy and EG.PA have both claimed their first maps over their opponents. For BIG, the feat was even bigger considering the map pick Apeks'. The matches currently are:

BIG Academy 1-0 Apeks — (16:12 Ancient; Mirage; Dust2)
EG.PA 1-0 Team oNe — (16:5 Dust2; Nuke; Overpass)

The Big L has also progressed to the semifinals where 7AM have already dismissed their opponent in Zenigma and the other match is going into its third map...

05:20PM - Team oNe reverse sweep EG.CD and proceed to semifinals!

After losing the opening map 14:16, oNe were able to destroy EG on their map pick of Dust2 with a 16:5 win. When the third map came around, it was again a closer affair but the Brazilian side closed it out 16:11 and take the series 2-1.

04:14PM - Tied series between oNe and EG.CD!

This time the Brazilians didn't let the Americans come back and closed the Dust2 map in a quick fashion, with a 16-5 score. The teams are now going for the Overpass decider win in order to reach the semifinals.

04:04PM - oNe take a commanding lead in map 2

The great start with the T-side pistol and the following rounds win culminated in a calm first half for the Brazilians. Can EG.CD repeat what they did in Inferno and come back or will oNe tie the series up?

03:40PM - oNe are off to a T-side win in Dust2

After losing the first map to EG.CD, the Brazilians started map two with a pistol round win, unlocking the next two rounds for them.

EG.CD oNe-upped the Brazilians on CT-side Inferno and ended the map 16-13 to take a 1-0 map lead. The teams are now onto Dust2 with EG.CD looking to close the series.

02:55PM - oNe ahead at the half

oNe showed up late, but they SHOWED UP. The Brazilians looked very solid during the first half, can they keep the momentum in their T-side or will EG.CD ruin their day?

02:41PM - EG.PA are the third team to make it to the semifinals!

Well, it seems both teams were waiting for the end of EG.PA's match to resume their own. oNe and EG.CD are back in action!

02:39PM - EG.PA are the third team to make it to the semifinals!

The EG.PA squad made quick work of the former timbermen squad. With a 16-8 first map and a 16-10 second one, the team has eliminated Iron Blood and are now waiting on oNe and EG.CD. That game has been paused for a while.

02:22PM - EG.PA are getting closer to secure their semifinal spot

EG.PA has once again got to halftime with the lead of the map, this time on the weaker side of T-side Nuke. Things are looking good for them as they try to put an end to this series.

Meanwhile, oNe has taken an early lead in Inferno against EG.CD, but the Brazilian squadron wasn't able to build a good economy so far, with the EG.CD players hoping to make a comeback.

02:06PM - oNe and EG.CD are finally playing

It only took them one hour, but the game has started! oNe hasn't dropped a map since the start of the event, including the Last Chance Qualifier, but this will be oNe's biggest hurdle yet. Is the EG.CD squad on the same level as the Brazilians?

The series between EG.PA and Iron Blood is already on its second map with the EG squad looking to close the series with a win in Nuke.

01:51PM - EG.PA take the lead against Iron Blood

The newly-signed roster from ex-timbermen wasn't able to mount a comeback and have dropped their map pick 16-8. Things are looking dire for them, can EG.PA capitalize on the lead and close the series 2-0?

The game between oNe and EG.CD is yet to start but it shouldn't be too long until players join the server.

01:33PM - oNe are in the building!

After a 30-minute delay, oNe and EG.CD are getting ready to start their match. Meanwhile, EG.PA is comfortably leading at the half of Overpass.

01:14PM - EG.PA vs Iron Blood underway

Despite what was reported, the game between EG.PA and Iron Blood has already started and you can catch it on the main Fragadelphia stream. The teams are playing Overpass, picked by Iron Blood.

01:05PM - Games delayed

All of the remaining quarterfinals matches have been delayed due to oNe being late to the venue. The games are now scheduled to start at 01:30PM, giving the Brazilians time to arrive at The Block.

12:46PM - Apeks takes the series!

After a grueling series, with a double overtime in the first map and a close first half of the second one, the Europeans have defeated ATK and are now proceeding to the semifinals where they will encounter BIG Academy.

It is time now for the second set of teams playing the quarterfinals to prepare, as there will be a short break after the end of the ATK vs Apeks game. Up next, EG.PA will face Iron Blood and EG.CD will face the Brazilians from oNe. There's only the chance to have one NA team playing the finals, as the outsider teams have been looking dominant over the past couple of days.

12:27PM - Apeks lead at the half

With BIG Academy waiting for the winner of this match, ATK needs to pull a comeback in the second half of Dust2, its map pick, in order to send the series to the decider match, just so the team has a chance to fight for their lives at Frag 17. This second map is continuing the trend of the first one, with both teams being equally matched and putting on a good show for everyone watching, be it at home or in The Block.

11:58AM - BIG Academy is the first team qualified for the semifinals

Despite Electrify Steel's effort during Dust2, it wasn't enough for them to push the series to a tie and are now eliminated from Fragadelphia 17 with a 5th-8th placement and a $5,000 money prize. BIG Academy are now waiting on ATK and Apeks to see who they will face next in the semifinals. The series between ATK and Apeks is only now starting its second map as the first map needed two overtimes to be resolved.

11:45AM - Apeks have finally won their map pick

BIG Academy has managed to take the lead over Electrify Steel, the game is now 13-10 in favor of the Germans. ATK and Apeks will now head into Dust2 after a flawless T-side from the Europeans during the second overtime of the Inferno match.

11:33AM - ATK and Apeks continue battling it out in a double-overtime thriller!

As Electrify Steel leads 8-7 over BIG Academy in Dust2, ATK and Apeks are still fighting over in Inferno with the game going into double overtime. It seems as though this match will still go on for a bit longer.

10:52AM - BIG Academy have taken the first map of the day

The Germans are looking like the team to beat at this iteration of Fragadelphia. BIG Academy only dropped one map since the start of the Last Chance Qualifier, if they can keep this momentum, surely they will make the finals in no time. They took Electrify Steel's Mirage with a 16-5 score, and are now looking to close the series in Dust2.

In the other game of the same bracket, things couldn't get any close. It was said it looked like a balanced match and it certainly is. Is there an overtime in the books for this game?

10:45AM - First halves of first maps have finished

BIG Academy looks locked in as they ended the first half with an 11-4 score on CT-side against Electrify Steel in ES' pick of Mirage. Things are looking set for the Germans to make it to the semifinals.
Over on the Inferno match, ATK take a 9-6 lead on the CT-side at the half against the Europeans of Apeks. It is looking like it's going to be a long series for both teams as things are looking balanced with neither being able to get a comfortable lead.

10:15AM - First set of quarterfinals kick off

The first set of quarterfinals have already started and players are getting more and more comfortable inside the server. BIG Academy is looking to continue its path of destruction with Electrify Steel being the victims this time. ATK and Apeks are throwing the first punches at each other in a classic Inferno match-up.
