Fragadelphia playoffs begin

After witnessing upsets, European defeats, and North American triumphs, the final day of the Fragadelphia 17 LAN is set to begin at 10:00AM with the first two quarterfinals matchups.

The $100,000 event began on Thursday with a star-studded Last Chance Qualifier featuring European guests Apeks, BIG Academy, BLVKHVND, 7AM, oNe, and two Evil Geniuses rosters. With almost all but 7AM qualifying out of the gauntlet into Saturday's groups, Fragadelphia has proven to be much tougher than anticipated for the visiting teams.

The group stage was comprised of four, equally-sized groups with eight teams qualifying from Thursday and Friday's Last Chance Qualifier and eight teams having received invites due to their placement in the Fragadelphia points ladder. Teams like Homeless and ATK were spared from the grind of the LCQ earlier this week thanks to their performances at Fragadelphia-affiliated events.

Apeks and the Evil Geniuses teams survived scares in the LCQ, with the Norwegian organization falling to BIG Academy late Thursday, only to be victorious in their lower-bracket run on Friday. In groups, they suffered an early defeat to Homeless but exacted their revenge in the group decider match later that evening. Other favorites in BIG Academy, ATK, oNe, and Evil Geniuses White all finished at the top of their respective groups.

The Fragadelphia 17 quarter-finals begin today at 10:00AM, with the following matchups:
